du Pay, the digital financial services arm of du, has expanded its partnership with talabat to become the digital wallet and payment platform for talabat’s fleet partners in the UAE, the companies announced on 12 October 2026. The agreement was signed at talabat’s office by du Pay chief executive Roberto Mancone and Simonida Subotic, vice president and managing director for the UAE at talabat.

Key Takeaways

du Pay, du’s digital financial services arm, has become the digital wallet and payment platform for talabat’s fleet partners in the UAE, the companies announced on 12 October 2026.

Fleet partners are the employers that pay talabat riders. Riders already received monthly payments from them through du Pay, and the new phase gives fleet partners a single wallet to manage those payments.

du Pay says it reaches ‘thousands’ of riders a month through the partnership and has more than one million registered customers overall.

What changed

The fleet partners are the companies that employ talabat’s delivery riders. Riders were already receiving their monthly payments from those employers digitally through du Pay, and the announcement says adoption was strong. The new phase gives the fleet partners one wallet to handle those payments, so they no longer need separate providers.

What riders get

Each du Pay account includes a UAE IBAN and a free digital debit card with cashback on spending. Riders can send money home, pay bills, recharge their mobile balance, including 50% extra balance on du prepaid recharges, and take cash loans.

du Pay says onboarding takes about a minute with a UAE mobile number and Emirates ID, that there are no account opening fees, monthly charges or minimum balance, and that it is licensed by the Central Bank of the UAE. du Pay has more than one million registered customers across all its services. talabat, listed on the Dubai Financial Market since December 2024, said it had more than seven million monthly active users in December 2025.

What’s next

The announcement doesn’t give cashback rates, loan terms or eligibility, a rider or fleet partner count, or a date for when all fleet partners will be on the wallet. Businesses interested in similar arrangements can contact du Pay’s business team.

Editor’s Take: The news is an expansion: du Pay already paid riders their monthly earnings, and the new step makes it the wallet for the employers that pay them. The strongest detail is the product itself, a regulated wallet with an IBAN, a debit card and no stated account fees. The numbers are thinner. ‘Thousands’ of riders sits against du Pay’s one million registered customers, and cashback rates and the terms of the cash loans, the two things that decide the real cost for a rider, aren’t disclosed. How many fleet partners are now on the wallet, and what rider adoption looks like, would show whether the model is spreading.
